The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
A couple of things I'd add:
- I'm super proud of my Atlantic City 2010 Halloween FOB recordings. EVERYONE else was taping from the OTS much farther back in the room, so I would highly recommend checking those out.
- Ditto for my Bonnaroo '09 recordings. I was definitely the only FOB taper there and my recordings will ROCK your house.
- Also worth noting is that I recently released my Beacon '94 run recordings as part of my BARN series. I wouldn't know (as I don't go out there collecting lots of sources), but those in the know were saying that no other good recordings we circulating, and mine sound quite nice.
- On the long-term horizon, I've been thinking about how happy (sound quality wise) I was with my '97 Gorge run recordings. When I get some time to do get around to some more Phish in my BARN series (I've got a lot of things queued up before then, though) I'd LOVE to put those out.
Keep the faith, fellow aud tapers!
